In Thailand dead turtle that swallowed 915 coins The green sea turtle nicknamed "Piggy Bank" has died after veterinarians in Thailand have removed 915 coins from her abdomen earlier this month.

The coins were a penny thrown into a pond where lived a 25-year-old animal. The locals gave her the name "Om-sin", which translates as "Piggy". The turtle recovered after a seven-hour operation when 11 pounds of coins was removed by veterinarians at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.

Turtle "fully recovered after surgery on 6 March," wrote Antarica jangsu, which led veterinary blog on his page in Facebook. "She was swimming and eating normally during the week ... We had planned to get her back in the pond of the Royal Thai Navy on Thursday."

But on Sunday night, jangsu found that the animal's breathing is too slow, and the turtle was taken
