McCain called for increased military spending Senator John McCain said Wednesday that he would do everything possible to increase military spending in the next bill on spending, even if it means shutting down the government.

The Arizona Republican said the Senator will not vote for a bill funding, which supports previous spending levels. When asked how far he will go, McCain said that he has only one vote. "If this is the only option, I will not vote for the CR, regardless of the consequences, because the transfer of CR destroys the ability of the military to protect this nation, and it endangers the lives of men and women in the armed forces, "McCain Said. "I can't do with them."

McCain's comments came when the leaders are making serious efforts to discuss the remaining appropriation bills for fiscal 2017, which probably will include some new military spending, which McCain insists.

Congressional leaders spoke out against strict deadlines. After last week failed to sign the bill on health care, questions arise about how much the leaders are willing to discuss a new bill, even if their goal is to finish the appropriation bills, instead make the decision to continue. On 28 April, the Congress must come to agreement before the government has no money.
