Chinese President XI Jinping discussed the situation with North Korea and Syria with US President Donald trump, in a telephone conversation on Wednesday, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of China.

Trump repeatedly called on China to do more to rein in their unruly neighbor, who in 2016 has intensified its missile development and nuclear programs. The United States sent to the region aircraft carrier, after the recent tests by North Korea last week, causing a strong warning to Pyongyang.

The phone call happened between them after the trump expressed on Twitter his dissatisfaction with North Korea. The two leaders first met last week at the estate of Mar-a-Lago in Florida and had lunch, when the United States began to strike at the Syrian airport.

After the meeting, trump-si U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said that China understands the threat was the nuclear program of North Korea, and agreed to take action to stop it.
