Vice-President Mike Pence will travel to South Korea In the face of increasing tensions with North Korea by Vice-President Mike Pence will travel Saturday to South Korea during a scheduled visit on his first official visit to the Asia-Pacific region.

The trip comes at a critical time for the administration to trump and allies, after the deterioration of relations with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN and a growing concern that the country could celebrate its most important holiday on Saturday for its sixth nuclear test.

Along with his visit to Seoul, a tour of the Vice-President will also include stops in Tokyo, Jakarta, Sydney and Hawaii. According to the foreign policy adviser of the White house, the trip is designed to ensure that the Pens could explain the administration's policy to U.S. allies in the region and provide the opportunity to develop personal relationships with government and business leaders.

Commitment is the key message that the Vice President represents the US allies in the Asia-Pacific region, as security and economy. According to officials, the main purpose of the trip will be the strengthening of regional security alliances. To this end, the Pens will meet with acting President of South Korea Hwang Menomena to strengthen the U.S. commitment to consultations with South Korea about missile and nuclear programs in North Korea.

Security will almost certainly be a key moment in the discussions with Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, who said on Thursday that North Korea may now have the opportunity to put missiles equipped with sarin nerve.

Along with a commitment to safety, the Pens will underscore the commitment of the administration to trump economic activity in the region and, according to officials, report that the output from the TRANS-Pacific trade partnership must not be viewed as a retreat.

In Tokyo, Pence and Deputy Prime Minister of Japan, Taro ASO, will begin U.S.-Japanese economic dialogue, which was first announced in February during Abe's visit to the White house.

According to officials, the talks between the Vice President and the Japanese leaders will be more to do with establishing the Foundation for future discussions and not to delve into a particular industry.

The tour also offered the Vice President the opportunity to spend time with American troops overseas. In Tokyo, the Pens will deliver a speech on Board the American Navy Ronald Reagan, and will visit troops in South Korea and Hawaii. During a meeting at the White house on Thursday, trump said that North Korea "is a problem", which is "taken care of". Now, this upcoming trip will offer the Pens the opportunity to deliver this message to the region personally.
