In Ukraine during the explosion killed a member of the patrol SMM UN for security and cooperation in Europe said that the American assistant attached to a Supervisory patrol in volatile Eastern Ukraine, were killed in an explosion on Sunday.

The U.S. citizen was part of the patrol the Special mission of OSCE observers in Ukraine. OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier said that the first time while on patrol killed a member of the patrol SMM. The group did not name the victim's name.

Two other officials were injured in the incident when their car was badly damaged in the explosion in the Luhansk region, near Pryshyb. The OSCE is investigating the incident. "This horrific incident highlights the increasingly dangerous environment in which members of the patrol SMM work every day," said Zannier. "All parties are responsible for the safety and security of the OSCE observers".

The chief Deputy Director of the OSCE Alexander Hg said that the explosion likely was caused by the mines. The explosion occurred at 11:17 am on Sunday morning.

The mission was launched in March 2014, "after referring to the OSCE by the government of Ukraine and the adoption of the consensus of all 57 participating States of the OSCE."

"SMM is an unarmed civilian mission, operating in the field 24 hours a day in all regions of Ukraine. Its main tasks are impartial and objective monitoring and reporting on the situation in Ukraine, as well as facilitating dialogue between all parties, " - said the OSCE. The war between Pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian armed forces in the East of Ukraine is saved, and the crisis became the bloodiest European conflict since the wars in the former Yugoslavia in the early 1990-ies.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposed to the Secretary of state Rex Tillerson their condolences on Sunday, Reaffirming the importance of the OSCE mission in Ukraine. Washington urged Moscow to "use its influence on the separatists to allow OSCE to conduct a full, transparent and timely investigation" and "to take the first steps on the path to peace".
