In the US prisoner attacked a prison guard. The jailer died after attack of a prisoner on Wednesday evening, reports CBS Greenville, Union member WNCT-TV.

Authorities reported that the attack occurred in a correctional facility at 6:20 PM, the girl died, despite all the measures taken to rescue the prison medical staff. Prisoner Craig Wissink charged in connection with the attack on Sergeant Megan Callahan.

"I am deeply saddened and sincerely sympathize with the family of Sergeant Callahan," said Secretary of public safety Eric A. hooks. "We will do everything possible to support her family. The division will fully cooperate with law enforcement and conduct its own internal investigation."

Callahan worked in the Department since January 2012 and was appointed Sergeant in February 2016.

Prisoner Craig Wissink is behind bars since April 2004. He is serving a life sentence after he was convicted of first-degree murder in Cumberland County.
