According to officials of the Ministry of defence, on Thursday 4 military aircraft took to the air after four Chinese coast guard ship and a drone invaded the disputed Islands in the East China sea.

Tokyo said Beijing for the first time used an unmanned aerial vehicle in the protracted dispute over the Islands, which Japan called the Senkaku and China Diaoyu. The Minister of defense of Japan Tomomi Inada said that the use of the drone increases the tension caused by the fact that, according to Japan, is a record number of attempts of the self aircraft in response to Chinese invasion last year.

"China has intensified the situation unilaterally, and it is absolutely unacceptable," Inada said at a press conference. According to the Minister of defense, Japan said the two F-15 and two aircraft early warning. The island of Senkaku / Diaoyu is almost 1900 km (1 180 miles) southwest of the Japanese capital Tokyo. Although the Islands are uninhabited, their ownership would obtain exclusive rights to oil, mineral resources, and the right to fish in the surrounding waters.

Although claims to the island chain date back centuries, the latest round of tensions began in 2012 when Japan nationalised the Islands to prevent a planned sale to the then Governor of Tokyo, a nationalist hard-line, who, apparently, hoped to develop the island.

The plan sparked massive anti-Japanese protests across China, and Chinese coastal fishing vessels of the court and began to run around the Islands.

In 2013, China declared an official zone of identification of air defense, covering the airspace over the Islands and overlapped with air space, which is claimed by Japan. The ADIZ Declaration demanded that airlines flying over the waters, first notified the China.
