Qatar continues to import gas to its neighbors, despite the blockade, which is already harming the Gulf state.

Several Arab countries have cut diplomatic relations with Qatar. In addition, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia stopped all transportation, air and sea freight to Qatar. Qatar is the world's leading exporter of liquefied natural gas, and its major customers are Japan, South Korea and India.

Underwater pipeline operated by Dolphin Energy, is 364 km (226 miles) from RAS Laffan in Qatar to Abu Dhabi in the UAE and then to Oman. It produces about 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day, most of which satisfy about 30% of the energy needs of the UAE. So far there is no indication that Qatar will cut off this vital flow of cheap energy, though this remains an open question.

"We can't make decisions based on our emotions or our emotions motivated," - said Tuesday the Minister of foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani. UAE hope that the diplomatic sung will not affect the deal to supply.

State company Qatargas was founded in 1984. It sent its first gas to Japan in 1996, an event that marked the beginning of an economic boom. International energy companies such as ExxonMobil, Total and Shell, all had a hand in the transformation of the energy industry in Qatar.
