Qatar will buy US F-15 for $12 billion In the context of the ongoing diplomatic crisis between Qatar and its neighbours in the Persian Gulf, the United States agreed to sell U.S. F-15 in the amount of $12 billion.

"Today the Minister of defense of Jim Mattis met with the Secretary of the Qatari Ministry of defense, Dr. Khalid al-Attia to discuss the final steps for completion of the procurement of foreign military F-15 fighters produced by the United States, the state of Qatar. The sale will provide Qatar with the most modern capabilities and strengthen cooperation in the field of security between the United States and Qatar, " - said the representative of the press service of the Pentagon Lieutenant Colonel Roger Cabiness.

"The Secretary and the Minister also discussed the interest of mutual security, including the current status of operations against ISIL, and the importance of de-escalation of tension that all partners in the Gulf region could focus on the next steps to achieve common goals," added Cabinet.

He also praised relations between the US and Qatar, saying the two countries "have strengthened their military cooperation, fighting together side by side for many years trying to eradicate terrorism".
