U.S.: Iran continues to comply with the terms of the nuclear deal The United States said that Iran continues to comply with the terms of the nuclear deal, curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for relief from sanctions.

But the administration trump tied his certification with the Congress on compliance by non-nuclear activities of Iran, saying Iran "certainly does not meet the spirit" of the deal. The Secretary of state Rex Tillerson issued a similar criticism earlier this year when the United States first confirmed the deal after President Donald trump took office.

The US is also considering additional sanctions against Iranian companies and organizations that focus on ballistic missile programme of the country and state sponsorship of terrorism, two points not covered by the deal, said a senior administration official.

"The Secretary of state and the President intend to emphasize that Iran remains one of the most dangerous threats to U.S. and regional security," said another senior administration official, noting the list of half-dozen areas where Iran remains a destabilizing force. "Moving forward, the administration intends to use a strategy that will take into account the totality of Iranian behaviour, not just focus on the nuclear deal."

The administration of the trump is also considering ways to strengthen enforcement of the deal, officially known as the Joint comprehensive plan of action, working with allies, to more clearly interpret their provisions, said 3 senior officials of the administration.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif said earlier Monday that Iran had received "contradictory signals" from the administration of the trump and confirmed that it had no contact with his American colleague Rex Tillerson.
