In Abkhazia in the village of Primorskoye of the Gudauta district on the evening of August 2, blew up an ammunition dump. Local residents were evacuated. However, the explosion affected about 65 people including the Russians.

At the time of the explosion at the ammunition depots 2 a resident of St. Petersburg have made a horse ride near the scene. The Ministry of emergency situations of Abkhazia announced about their death. Press Secretary of the Republican MOE Mizan Lomia reported that during the explosion 3 women from St. Petersburg have made a horse ride near the warehouse. 2 Russians were killed, a third escaped with a broken arm. Rescuers found the bodies of 2 women the next morning.

The President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba held an emergency meeting. By order of the head of state, Prime Minister Beslan Bartsits will create a special Commission that will determine the amount of damage and the amount of compensation to victims, including citizens of Russia.

Rescuers worked through the night several hours it was impossible to even come close to the vault. The explosions did not stop. Affected about 65 people, 35 of them - Russians.
