The Dalai Lama: lessons of kindness in schools reduce suicide rate The Dalai Lama, Buddhist leader, offers to enter lessons of kindness in schools. This can help to reduce the number of suicides and mental illnesses among children and adolescents. The Dalai Lama notes that the modern system of education focused only on material development, material progress, but the attention is a spiritual science, which is the basis for all life, not given. Children, and indeed adults, lack of knowledge about the importance of such qualities as kindness, mercy, compassion.
The educators also gradually come to this conclusion. Examples of highly developed countries where the living standard is at a very high level, shows that these countries have very high suicide rate. This shows the lack of love, compassion, and overall focus in the community.
This idea is also put forward by leaders of the International society of Krishna consciousness, which is also advocating for the introduction of lessons devoted to the study of spiritual science and the principles of pure life in modern society.
