Mexico reiterated that it does not intend to pay for the wall The Mexican government on Sunday reiterated its position that it will not pay for the proposed boundary wall of President Donald trump.

Trump tweeted Sunday morning: "Since Mexico is one of the highest crime countries in the world, we need to build a wall. Mexico will pay for it by means of compensation."

In response, the Ministry of foreign Affairs issued a statement that Mexico would not pay for a wall or other physical barrier at the border "under any circumstances". "This determination is not part of the Mexican negotiating strategy, and is the principle of national sovereignty and dignity," the statement reads.

One of the main election promises trump had to build a wall on the southern border and forced to pay for it Mexico. Since taking office, trump has called on Congress to allocate money for the wall instead of take money from Mexico. Mexican leaders publicly rejected any possibility to pay for the wall.

Earlier this month, trump threatened a government shutdown if Congress does not allocate money for the construction of the wall, which Mexico refused to Finance. The deadline for adoption of the bill of costs until the end of next month.

In a statement the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Mexico also referred to the comments of trump in relation to crimes in Mexico. The Ministry said that the crime is a "common problem" for both countries and partly caused by the U.S. demand for Mexican drugs.
