Russia may withdraw from participation in the Olympic games 2018 in Pyeongchang. In mass media appeared information that the Russian Olympic team may not be allowed to perform the national anthem at the Olympics in Pyeongchang.

The New York Times, citing its own unnamed sources in the international Olympic Committee, said that because of the high number of doping scandals in the sport Russian Olympic team of the Russian Federation may be admitted to the competition only under the condition that the anthem of Russia will be executed, and the delegation of Russia will not be admitted to the opening ceremony of the Olympic games.

Commenting on this information the Senator Alexei Pushkov expressed his opinion, saying that if there is a ban on the national anthem the Russian national team should not play in the Olympics. In his Twitter account, he wrote that if the Russian team from the opening ceremony and the introduction of a ban the national anthem of Russia our team does not need to support Russophobia to participate in the Olympic games.
