The 41-year-old actress stopped talking to her mom Nancy in 1996, after she went on an American talk show and opened up about her daughter`s personal life. The pair did not talk for several years, although they did get in contact when Jennifer?s marriage to Brad Pitt broke down in 2005.

They have had a difficult relationship ever since, but Jennifer has now decided to bury the hatchet. Nancy, 73, broke her leg and hip after falling while she left a California church recently, and Jennifer has offered to pay for her treatment. "When Jen got word of her mum`s catastrophic fall, she contacted Nancy`s doctors and made sure all of her medical costs were taken care of," a source explained.

The experience has made Jennifer realise how much Nancy means to her, and she has vowed to work on their relationship. She hopes to become close to her mother again, and plans to spend as much time as possible with her from now on.

"There are unresolved issues, but Jen loves her mum," a source told National Enquirer magazine. "She wants a healthy relationship and felt the least she could do was help Nancy in her time of need."
