The 25-year-old pop star and the British comedian got engaged in India on New Year`s Eve after a whirlwind romance. They are planning to tie the knot later this year, and Katy has joked they are going to extreme measures to ensure their nuptials are unique.

When quizzed about the location for the upcoming ceremony, Katy quipped: "It`s going to be under the ocean now."

The actual location of the wedding is thought to be India, after singer Rihanna revealed the couple had told her they were planning to wed in the country where Russell proposed.

Russell recently claimed the pair had rethought their original plans, and were now looking into venues in Japan.

"Whilst in LA, Russell told a couple of people that they were also considering Tokyo as a venue. It is a really buzzy, vibrant city and somewhere completely different and unique. Katy kept jokingly hitting Russell, telling him to keep his big mouth shut," a source said. "But Katy really likes the idea of wearing some kind of Geisha-inspired bridal dress so it is a real possibility."
