The Eurasian economic Union and Iran signed an interim agreement on creation of free trade zone Interim agreement establishing a free trade between the Eurasian economic Union and Iran signed in the process of the Astana economic forum.

The document represents the 1st phase of forming a free trade area between the EEC and Iran. It provides for the reduction or zeroing of the import customs duties on a wide range of subjects. The implementation of the agreement will give the opportunity to greatly increase the volume of mutual trade, which last year amounted to 2, 7 billion.

"In the interim agreement provided for an effective dispute resolution mechanism, as well as among them, arbitration. Judges determine the parties agree, and among them, of the place of arbitration. Also created a General Committee at the level of high officials of the parties, provided the development of business dialogue"
