Russian champions Rubin Kazan have held transfer talks with Bayern Munich`s 32-year-old striker Miroslav Klose, Sport Express said on Monday.

The paper said Rubin manager Kurban Berdiyev had spoken to Klose, whose contract with Bayern runs until next summer, on June 24.

It also said that Klose, who is Polish by birth but holds German nationality, had asked for time to consider Rubin`s offer.

Despite falling out of favor with his club, Klose has been a major figure during Germany`s march to the semi-finals of the World Cup, where he has scored four goals in four games.

He was also the top scorer, with five goals, at the 2006 competition and has 14 goals in three tournaments, putting him in joint second-place in the list of FIFA World Cup goalscorers, just a single strike behind Brazil`s Ronaldo.
