All the allies in NATO on an urgent meeting of NATO ambassadors called on the US not to withdraw from the Treaty on open skies, told the Athens news Agency AMNA citing a diplomatic source.

Donald trump on Thursday announced his country's exit from the Treaty, accusing the Russian Federation in violation of the Treaty, which allows the test military movements and measures for the limitation of armaments of the signatory.

AMN also recalls that Germany has called on Washington to "reconsider its position" and then together with nine other European Union countries signed a message, a reminder of the importance of the Treaty.

"We regret" in connection with the statement of the US capital, "although We share the concern of the United States," according to the text released by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of France and signed with ten countries (France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Sweden).

the appeal also reported the intention to continue the dialogue with Russia and urged Moscow to remove limits on flights over the Kaliningrad.

the magazine "Naftemporiki" for its part, says that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in his own statement following the meeting, the ambassadors did not mention the Declaration of ten European countries, in which they expressed regret in connection with the release of the US capital of this international Treaty.

The Treaty on open skies was signed in 1992 and became one of the measures for strengthening confidence in the European Union after the cold war. It operates since 2002 and provides the opportunity to participating countries to openly collect information about military forces and activities of one another. Parties to the Treaty are 34 countries.
