The EU Council decided to extend the punishment against certain sectors of Russia's economy, introduced in 2014 on the backdrop of the fall in Ukraine, reported in a statement released by the EU.

the EU commented that this decision was taken " after the last evaluation implementation of the Minsk agreements, made during a video conference with members of the European Council on 19 June 2020."

"since the full implementation (of the agreement - ed.) is not yet complete, the EU leaders made a political decision to extend economic punishments against Russia," - noted in circulation.
