China is ready to join trilateral talks on disarmament with the United States and Russia if Washington would agree to reduce their own nuclear stockpiles to the level of Beijing, said Wednesday the Director, division of arms control Ministry of foreign Affairs of China Fu Cong.

According to the policy, China is aware that " this will not happen ".

He added that China advocates that the United States and Russia has prolonged the Contract on reduction of strategic offensive arms and continued to reduce their own nuclear stockpiles.

The contract on reduction of strategic offensive arms (start -3), signed in 2010, is the only existing agreement between the Russian Federation and the USA on the limitation of armaments. The contract ends in February 2021, as long as Washington has not announced whether to renew it. The US administration at different levels emphasizes the need to include China in dialogues to develop a new trilateral nuclear agreement between Russia, China and the United States. In Beijing, this idea is rejected. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the Russian Federation is in favor of extending the strategic arms reduction Treaty-3 without any conditions.
