The `Closer` singer - whose girlfriend Monyetta Shaw is due to have the couple`s first child in January - has come to terms with the physical changes and demands made by his partner, and is prepared to go to extreme lengths to accommodate her needs.

He told the New York Daily News newspaper: "If it`s ice cream at 3 o`clock in the morning, you have to get up and go get her the ice cream.

"I`m learning that pregnant women like to cry a lot, and yell for no reason whatsoever. You just have to let that happen."

Ne-Yo has previously confessed he is "nervous" about the birth because he knows he has to be completely responsible for another person.

He said: "I`m so excited and nervous. It`s amazing - I`m bringing another life into the world. But at the same time, I`m like, `Oh c**p, I`m responsible for another human being.`

"I don`t even buy my own underwear, where am I going to find his?"
