The British comedian is set to wed the `Teenage Dream` singer next month after dating for just over a year and Russell can`t believe he met someone he has so much in common with.

Russell - who was once famed for his womanising ways - said: "She doesn`t have to control me. I have nothing to hide. I have nothing to give you except love and joy! It`s an honour to have found someone that I care about so much, it`s just not an issue. I just want to be with her,

"We have an incredibly ordinary relationship and take the p**s out of each other."

Although the couple spend quite a lot of time apart because of their busy careers, Russell says they take every opportunity they can to be with each other.

He told the Sunday Times Culture magazine: "We see each other as much as we can and it`s sort of enough. Sort of."

Russell and Katy met at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and the 35-year-old funnyman admits it was love at first sight.

He said: "It was like a collision with God, as in, `Oh my God, there is love, there is nothing but love, in the same way that saying goodbye is a foreshadowing of death? because, oh my God, one day, I`ll say goodbye to everything. In the same way that falling in love is a precedent to beauty and birth, and we are all beautiful and all of us have a capacity to love another."
