Russian movie wins main prize at Kustendorf Film Festival The Chance, a short film by Russian Director Sonya Karpunina has won the main prize of the international Kustendorf Film Festival in Serbia.

The movie tells the story of a a Russian woman`s struggle to break from her past and fulfil her dream to become an actress in the United States.

The jury of the festival announced its winners late on Tuesday. Karpunina`s movie, which competed with 19 other films from 13 countries, has been awarded the Golden Egg. A Polish movie by Julia Kolberger, Tomorrow I`ll Be Gone, won the Silver Egg, and Serbian director Ognjen Isailovic took home the Bronze Egg for his movie, Golden League.

The Kustendorf Film Festival was established in 2008 by film director Emir Kusturica. It is held annually in the village of Drvengrad (also known as Kustendorf), the construction of which was funded by Kusturica in mid-2000s.
