The `Behind Closed Doors` hitmaker has had an acrimonious relationship with his former spouse - with who he raises stepson Harvey, nine, son Junior, six, and four-year-old Princess Tiaamii - since they split in May 2009 but they are now trying to put their differences behind them and are getting on well.

Peter said: "My ex, Kate, said on [UK TV show] `Loose Women` last week that I was the only partner she`s ever had who`s bought her presents. It`s really nice that she said that about me. We did have some really good times together and we are talking at the moment and trying to be friends."

Peter and Katie met on the set of UK reality TV show `I`m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!` and the Australian singer has returned to the programme this week for the spin-off show `I`m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Now!` and admits it is "emotional" to be back - though he has no plans to meet another partner there.

He wrote in his column for new! magazine: "I must admit it`s quite emotional being back in the jungle as, obviously, the last time I was here my life changed dramatically. I was single when I walked in and I walked out with a future wife! There`s a chance that I might actually end up in the jungle for a day, and if that happens it`s going to be weird. I can`t see the same thing happening again, though - I`m pretty sure I`ll still be single when I leave this time."

Last week, Katie tweeted Peter to wish him luck on his return to the programme.
