Robbie Williams has quit smoking The 38-year-old `Angles` singer - who gave up drinking after getting hooked on drugs and alcohol following his 1995 departure from Take That - has reportedly now waved goodbye to his 40-a-day cigarette habit.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "So far he hasn`t smoked in ten days. He wants to start a family with Ayda soon, so it`s a good move.

"He`s also in training for the Unicef Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford in May, so he`ll need to be fit."
Robbie entered rehab on his 33rd birthday after getting addicted to prescription medication, and believes he would have had a heart attack if his management team hadn`t stepped in to save him.

He told GQ magazine: "I had a big blow up on a Monday night and then on Tuesday I was on a sofa coming in and out of consciousness.

"Then I heard their voices and I thought, `It`s Tuesday. They are supposed to be here on Wednesday. I bet you I`m going to rehab today.

"They sat down opposite me and said, "Rob, you look f***ing awful". I said, `I`ll go to rehab, you don`t have to say f***ing nasty things to me`.

"They had a plane waiting for me. They packed my bags and I got on it thankfully. I might have been a couple of days or 24 hours from dying. I was on this plane kicking the seats, I was so angry with myself that I had let myself get into that place again."
