State Duma Committee has refused to make legal estimation of a new book "2008" by journalist Sergey Dorenko.

"The Committee considers there are no reasons to evaluate this book lawfully because it is outside Committee`s competence".

This matter was entered on the agenda of the Committee after a decision of State Duma which supported report message by Alexei Mitrofanov to investigate whether there was a script of possible coup d`etat in Russia. That means the author himself might break the law.

Mitrofanov has said there was such script of organization of coup d`etat on the eve of presidential election in 2008 in the book and moreover the author referred to names of acting politicians, state officials, president administration.

Vice-chairman Yury Ivanov spoke at committee meeting. According to parliamentarian "in spite of the book is a piece of halfpenny horribles and there are many offensive words for heads of executive power", it cannot be regarded as a work that solicits to unlawful acts.

The deputy noticed the book has even "preventive nature". If someone thinks he was offended by this book he can go to the law, said Ivanov. He concluded that all events in the book have "invented nature" and the author himself noted all content in the book is fancy, dream, figment.
