The 36-year-old actress was photographed sporting the new style while carrying son Jackson, six months, in Beverly Hills on Monday (11.06.12).

Charlize`s new look is for her role as Furiosa in `Mad Max 4: Fury Road` according to her representative.

She and Tom Hardy, 34, were first attached to the film in 2009 but it was postponed after a number of production setbacks.

She Us Weekly: "It`s been three years: It`s time to skin this cat already! I`m very excited about it.

"The original `Mad Max` created such a vivid world, so to go back and re-imagine it and re-play in that sandbox sounds like fun to me. It`s a really challenging piece of material."

Charlize`s latest movies `Snow White and the Huntsman` and `Prometheus` earned a combined $73 million in the United States this weekend.

Meanwhile, a `Snow White` sequel has been commissioned with Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth both set to reprise their roles as the titular characters.

She continued: "With everything from `Young Adult` to `Prometheus`, I feel very creatively satisfied, especially going in to `Mad Max`. I feel very lucky."
