Female Russian team started with victory in plays of Handball World Cup in Danish Orhus. Team of Evgenii Trefilov defeated French team with score 32:34 (17:13).

On the threshold of "home" world championship which will take place in St. Petersburg on December 5-18, it will be a serious challenge for Russian players. Membership of international tournament is very representative - the strongest European teams and best Asian team of South Korea gathered in Denmark. At tentative stage Trefilov team will meet with Ukrainian and Norwegian teams. 2 best teams from each group will pass to final.

"This is the most serious tournament, - noted Trefilov. - It can be called as "small" World championship".

On November 16 Russians will meet with Ukrainian team, and the next day will play with Norwegians. Final and match for third place will be held on November 20.
