Tokyo, November 21 - Vladimir Putin confirmed Russia`s interests to develop negotiations with the countries of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation organization in the sphere of energy.

Summing up the results of the summit, the Russian President underlined the fact: "Plans of joint work in energy field stay at the first place".

As Putin declared, one of the main questions in the negotiations with Japan will be talks about energy.

Putin was happy with APEC members` confirmation of their readiness to cooperate in Asia. "This is important for Russia, considering its plans to develop its Far Eastern and Siberian regions." he said.

Putin also prompted APEC members to discuss cooperation in high-tech areas, including space and nuclear energy.
