Tokyo, November 22 - The Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Japanese Emperor Akihito in the Imperial Palace. The talks have lasted for half an hour.

Putin was led to the "Bamboo room", where the meeting took place, by the Chief of the Imperial Protocol.

Having greeted Akihito, Putin underlined the importance of the fact that his visit occurred in the year of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of intergovernmental relations between Russia and Japan.

When the audience came to the end the Emperor personally accompanied the Russian President till the exit of his residence and stayed there until Putin`s motorcade left the territory of the palace.
