Russians like to "make kids" during New Year celebration Our long New Year and Christmas holidays lead to increase of population, the conclusion was made following the analysis of statistical data on newborn babies.

That?s especially true when it comes to Moscow. Moscowers tend to "make" kids on the even of New Year (we remind you - that?s most popular holiday in Russia) or right away after New Year holiday - Christmas holidays (Orthodox Christmas in on January 7).

This year the holidays helped increase birth rate: in 8-9 months in our capital 16.356 kids were born, that?s quite a lot comparing with other months.
The result of last year was 1.500 kids less, one of the reasons is shorter holidays last year. Or we are improving our skills.
