Parliament election in Chechnya has finished. At 18:00 all election centers on territory of republic were closed.

By 16:00 42.3% of electors (about 260 thousands of people) participated in election of Chechen parliament. This was informed by the chairman of Chechen Election Committee Ismail Baikhanov.

"On first place is Nozhai-Yurtovsky region, where 63% of electors have voted, on second - Kurchaloevsky with 58%", - he said. Baikhanov is in firm belief that more than half of registered electors will participate in election.

He also noted that "there were no remarks to address of Election Committee. There are also no claims from side of candidates".

He explained journalists why election will stop at 18:00 by Moscow time. By words of Baikhanov, according to federal law, election, held in period since November1 till March 1, starts at 8:00 and ends at 18:00.

"Now we can announce that election to republic parliament passed well. The most important is that electors came and voted. It is the right of republic citizen to chose the person they like", - said Baikhanov.

None of illegal armed units were registered at the day of election in Chechen republic by 17:00. "There were no signs from rebels. The only accident - land mines were found at entrance to city", - reported general-lieutenant Gregory Fomenko.

By Fomenko`s words, situation in republic is stable, there is communication with every region, "even with mountain Sharoisk region". He also reminded that security was provided by 24 thousands of policemen and servicemen.
