Moscow authorities intend to introduce day-time and night tariffs on cold and hot water.

As first deputy of mayor in Moscow administration and the head of municipal services Petr Aksenov informed, differentiation of tariffs will take place as soon as possible.

Aksenov explained that this measure will allow "sufficient economy of resources". As municipal services have established, peak of hot and cold water consumption fall on period from 8:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. This "causes increase of pressure in pipeline and, therefore, load at all city water supplying system", noted Aksenov.

Moscow authorities thinks that introduction of new tariffs will keep stable pressure in pipelines. Night consumption of water will be cheaper; therefore, more Muscovites will do their household chores in the evening. "For example, one can do laundry in washing machine at night", - stated Aksenov.
