An explosion occurred in apartment house on Godovikov street, 6, near subway station "Alekseevskaya". 4 people, including 1 child, were injured as a result of explosion. This was informed by press-service of Russian Ministry of Emergency.

Moscow mayor Yurii Luzhkov and Moscow Prosecutor Anatoly Zuev arrived to place of accident. 48 people are evacuated through fire ladders; they are settled close to gymnasium. Additional brigades of "emergency" arrive to the house.

The cause of explosion is domestic gas. The evidence of this version is the fact that part of wall collapsed outward of the house.

Mayor informed that residents of damaged house will be moved, and house will be reconstructed within 15 days.

Accident happened at 9:10 by Moscow time. Explosion was powerful, as a result balconies on 5-th, 6-th and 7-th floors fell down. City operative services directed to place of incident.

As press-service of Russian Ministry of Emergency informed, as a result of explosion flight of steps on 5-th, 6-th and 7-th floor collapsed.

Moscow Office of Public Prosecutor instituted criminal proceedings according to articles 168 and 216. They are violation of rules during construction works and careless damage of property.
