Within the frames of "Drunk driver" operation, which took place in Moscow in December, police officials had to use weapon.

On December 10, 2005, driver of BMW automobile without back state registration number directed carrier at officer of traffic service on full speed. Inspector of police made tentative shot in the air.

After infringer didn`t stop and continued movement policeman shot at wheels of BMW, according to Russian law "About police". As a result of ricochet, bullet hit the driver, originated from Sokhumi town, 1970 year of birth.

During following examination inspectors of traffic police found syringes and ampoules with unestablished content. The front registration number also didn`t correspond to state standard.

At present moment criminal proceedings are investigated according to article 318, part 2 of Russian Code "Use of violence, dangerous for life and health, regarding representative of authorities".

It should be mentioned that during special operation "Drunk driver" 282 people, who drove in state of intoxication, were detained. 820 workers of capital traffic inspection and 284 patrol cars participated in operation.
