Wages to scientists will be increased; doctors and nurses will get additional payments within the frames of educational and health protective projects` realization.

Wage of scientists, occupied in academic sector, will amount to at least 30 thousands rubles by 2008. This goal was set by Russian minister of education and science Andrey Fursenko.

By his words, federal budget will spend 750 thousands rubles on 1 scientist per year. "Average wage in academic sector must be no less than 30 thousands rubles per month", - said Fursenko.

Fursenko emphasized that not only scientists of Russian Academy of Sciences will be paid new wage - reform will also touch institutes, which actively participate in innovation activity. In opinion of minister, such measure will strengthen prestige of scientists and attract young specialists in science.

Talking about strategies of science development, Fursenko named formation of competitive investigation and innovation sector, development of intellectual property protection institutes, modernization of economics on base of technological innovations as priority goals.
