In Tokyo were the Ukrainian-Japanese political meetings, during which the sides confirmed a common position on the illegality of the modification of borders and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Ukrainian and Japanese delegations have also agreed to deepen dialogue and interaction in the United Nations for solving urgent issues of international agenda. The Japanese side welcomed Ukraine's signing of the Treaty on the Union with the EU, which is supposed to reveal significant prospects for deepening cooperation with Ukraine, for example, in trade and economic sphere. The meeting participants also confirmed the importance of intensifying the exchange of political views between Ukraine and Japan. The Japanese side expressed readiness to render the necessary help to stabilize the political and economic situation in Ukraine and strengthen the institutions of democracy.
