Mikhalkov: political punishment against Russia affected the conduct of MIFF
The political situation in the world affected the conduct of the Moscow international film festival (MIFF), said its Director Nikita Mikhalkov at the press conference on Thursday.

" I was not able to hide it, and it would be strange if the country impose punishment and film festival this does not apply. On the other hand, there is a silver lining, we have a real reason to sign up for ourselves. Protests against such wording is of a national character, and I hope that the festival will be organized and calm, " said Mikhalkov at the press conference dedicated to the opening of the film festival.

according to him, 31 countries presented at the Moscow film festival 397 feature films. All in all, Together with short films and documentaries will be shown 1144 of the film.

" of course, everyone has different attitude to the film festival and different tastes, but that the festival was left, got up, and there is good. I am convinced, as this festival is needed, " said Mikhalkov.

The festival is held from 19 to 28 June. In the competitive program of the festival included fifteen paintings from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, Japan, Greece, Poland and other countries. The Russian Federation is a new film directed by Valeria Gai Germanicus " Yes and Yes ".
