Russia will challenge the punishment of the United States and EU member States in the WTO. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev called the actions of these States illegitimate from the point of view of international law and politically motivated.

Russia has addressed in the WTO with a wish to evaluate actions of the United States. "The data we punishment decided to challenge in the WTO, although we understand that it will not be easy, because the United States have in the WTO and doctrinal and practical authority", - said Dmitry Medvedev. This trade dispute, according to the head of the Cabinet, will allow to assess the impartiality and objectivity of the WTO.

Medvedev believes that the unilateral politically motivated punishment against Russia are not considered legitimate. The Prime Minister has made such a decision at the final plenary session of the St. Petersburg economic forum, talking about the actions of the US, EU and a number of other States, which in consequence of the situation around Ukraine used a punishment in respect of domestic residents companies. "In our opinion, their international legal component is negligible," said Medvedev.

"I would like to remind that politically motivated unilateral sanctions are not considered legitimate based on the beliefs of the traditional international law, " the Prime Minister stressed. - They are not based on international law and do not respond to public order, to start, as ignore established in the Charter of the United Nations a mechanism for the use of coercive measures".

"Such punishment does not observe the rules of the WTO itself, even the mode of the largest favorable trade, as is evident discrimination against suppliers of products and services of some foreign direct prohibition is violated 2 articles of the General agreement on trade in services and obligations of the WTO on trade peculiar economic services", - quotes the head of the government "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

Numerous court proceedings the head of government is waiting on bilateral Russian-Ukrainian level. 1st mutual claims already submitted to the Stockholm arbitration court. "But anyway I would like to note that such arbitration discussion is an alternative to tyranny, violence and neglect right. Therefore it is better to meet in the courts, rather than to settle disputes in a different way," said the Prime Minister.
