Dancers Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov have won the Russian Championship on figure skating held in Kazan.
The duet, representing Moscow, took the lead on the first day of the Championship. Original programme, performed the day before, wasn?t perfectly presented, however the panel of judges didn?t doubt about their superiority. On Wednesday the figure skaters presented their optional programme. After the final dance, accompanied with literally ceaseless applause, Alexander Zhulin?s pupils expectedly won the first prize of the Championship.
Silver medals were taken by Oxana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin (Moscow region), and bronze medals went to Yana Khohlova and Sergei Novitsky (Moscow).
On Wednesday the pairs are going to compete for the set of medals, Maria Petrova and Aleksey Tikhonov are the leaders of this section. Men are also to compete for the set of medals, Eugeny Pluschenko is an unconditional leader.
