Natalia Dobrovolskaya. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen welcomed the signing of agreements on the unity of Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and the EU, reported in its communique.

" I welcome the signing of agreements on the Union between the EU, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine " - said Rasmussen. According to him, " the agreement will help to strengthen freedom, stability and prosperity in the European Union ".

" They will closely cooperate in strengthening the rule of law, promoting reforms of the judicial system, fight against illegal activity of officials, ensuring compliance with fundamental rights and freedoms and strengthening democratic institutions. This is a goal that NATO supports in the framework of its own partnership with these countries and other partners, " - said Rasmussen.

Georgia and Moldova on the last working day of the week in Brussels signed the European Union Association agreement providing for joining the free trade area of the EU. Ukraine and the EU signed the economic Part of the agreement on Union with the EU. The political Part was signed in March of the current year.


Among the goals of the Treaty on the unity between Ukraine and the EU: the development of the Association, the gradual rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU on the basis of common values, deepening economic and trade relations, strengthening cooperation in the field of justice, freedom and security.

Special attention is paid to the regulations on the free trade area EU-Ukraine agreement (FTA), which should provide gradual economic integration of Ukraine into the internal market of the EU. Part of the contract involves the establishment of principles of cooperation in a number of sectors: energy, industrial policy and entrepreneurship, taxation, tourism and others.
