During the New Year?s and Christmas days off 14 people died of supercooling, 49 Muscovites, including 15 children, got traumas and burnt as a result of incorrect pyrotechnics treatment , reported the city emergency service.

State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reported about 4728 road incidents and 160 serious car crashes, which resulted in 26 people died. The car crashes were mostly caused by drunk drivers.

Civil defense response headquarter reported about 15 Muscovites died in fires. The ignition usually appeared because of smoking being drunk, and because of fire casual handling.
