Azerbaijan-Russian negotiations about prices on electric power to be continued Negotiation process about prices on Azerbaijan electric power, selling to Russia, will continue in January.

By words of vice-president of "Azerenergy" Marlen Askerov, meetings with Russian partners, which took place in the end of December, were not vain. Treaty about import of Russian electric power was concluded with electric energetic corporation of Russian United Energetic Systems development. The document establishes purchase of 1 kW/h of electric energy at price of $0.03636, which is lower than requested by Russian side during January 1-November 30 period. Another treaty ratifies the agreement about selling of Azerbaijan electric power to "Russian United Energetic System" for rate $0.0155 per 1 kW/h till January 31, 2006. Rates on subsequent periods and concrete amounts of supplies are the subject of current negotiations. "Azerenergy" purchases about 3 milliards of kW/h and sells 1 milliard of kW/h annually.

By words of Askerov, supplies of Russian electric energy to Azerbaijan come to 3-4% of total republican consumption.
