Practical realization of leading floating nuclear cogeneration plant of low power (NCP LP) project will start in Severodvinsk (Arkhangelsk oblast).

On New Year`s Eve Direction of construction of floating nuclear cogeneration plants was created in "Rosenergoatom". This is a branch of concern, responsible for construction of first floating plant. Ex-deputy of presidential plenipotentiary in Volga region Sergey Obozov was appointed on position of director of this department and vice-president of the concern.

Project of leading NCP LP on base of floating energetic unit (FEU) with reactor facilities KLT-40C is finished and is ready to practical realization. Production samples of plants will be supposedly located on the area of close administrative-educational organization Vilyuchinsk of Kamchatka oblast, and also in Pivek town of Chukotka autonomous region.

FEU will operate by watch scheme. Sailors on duty will change every 4 months. Cost of floating nuclear cogeneration plant construction with power of 3 MWatt amounts to $20 millions. Term of exploitation is 50 years. Refueling is realized once per 10-12 years.
