Scientists from the United States and Switzerland have analysed the likely dynamics of forming a progressive structure of mercury.

Astrophysics held numerical forecasting of dynamics of formation of mercury and concluded that in the early days of the Solar system, more than 4 billion years ago, in orbits around the Sun has seen a number of conflicts of space objects, in consequence of which some fragments formed a modern planet, and others were thrown out of orbit.

In one of the models proto-mercury almost tangent faced proto-Venus, in consequence of which a substantial part of the mantle and crust early mercury have been scattered in the surrounding space and collected later Venus.
