59-th Cannes cinema festival, which will be held on May 17-28 of 2006, will be opened by "Da Vinci Code" film by famous novel of Dan Brawn.

A novel was made into the film by producer Ron Howard. The leading roles are performed by Tom Hanks, Odrie Tatu and Jan Reno. The film will be demonstrated in Cannes 2 days before the official world premiere. The organizers of festival emphasized that the film will not participate in the contest.
