Heating main flooded railway in St. Petersburg repaired A heating main damage, which left hundreds of houses without heating, is eliminated.

The heating main break, which occurred in Krasnogvardeisky district of St. Petersburg on January 23 evening, has been settled down today at about 4 a.m. The break occurred in the area of Khasansky railway crossing.

The conduit, located above railway lines between two stations, went out of order. As a result, heating supply to 70 houses ceased, and 365 houses were transferred to lowered heating supply.

Train operation was stopped, as boiling water from the pipes had washed out the railway embankment.

According to the data, received from Russian Emergency Ministry Chief administration in St. Petersburg, in about an hour after the damage elimination train operation was recovered.
It has been the second accident with heating main during a week.

On January 17 on Khasanskaya street underground heating main, supplying heating to tenement houses, was broken, as a result 70 buildings were transferred to emergency mode of heating supply. The break was eliminated at about midnight.
