St.Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko and the chairman of St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly Vadim Tyulpanov have congratulated veterans, those who survived in the Blockade, and all the citizens of St.Petersburg on the Day of complete Leningrad`s reversal of fascists blockade.

"January 27 is a sacred date for our city. On this day in 1944 900 day blockade of Leningrad was finished. Inconceivable ordeal fell to Leningrad citizens` lot, but the city survived, having showed to the world the immortal feat of human spirit. The whole country, the whole world watched with palpitating heart for Leningrad citizens, who fought for the native city unsparingly" , says the official congratulation note.

"Last year the country commemorated the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. In St.Petersburg Blockade veterans became the main heroes of this nation-wide celebration. We did our best to surround them with sincere affection and care, to respond to all their needs and problems. There are still a lot to do for them, and we will make all efforts to make decent the life of those who we owe so much", noted Valentina Matvienko and Vadim Tyulpanov.

"On behalf of our city`s citizens we greet you from the heart those who defended Leningrad in the years of ordeal. We are very grateful to you, dear veterans, for our life, for our city`s life! We pay the grateful memory to those, who were taken by the fascists blockade, to all warriors-liberators. Let there be their eternal glory!", says the congratulation note.

St.Petersburg Governor and the chairman of St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly have wished the veterans health, love and affection of their close people.
