The Commissioner of the UN on the first day of the week thanked the Russian Federation for the hospitality with which the authorities and ordinary citizens accept immigrants from Ukraine.

" I wish to thank you, your state bodies, local authorities and ordinary Russian Citizens for the hospitality and assistance that you have a Ukrainian refugees, " - said at the meeting with the head of the Russian Federal migration service Director of the European Bureau of management of Supreme Commissariat of the United Nations on Affairs of immigrants Vincent Kostel.

The flow of immigrants from the South-East of Ukraine has greatly increased since June against the background of ongoing fighting between supporters of independence of Donbass and the Kyiv security forces. According to the information of the migration service, just in Russia are currently about 490 thousand internally displaced persons from Ukraine. The overwhelming majority, about 90%are living with relatives and friends.

According to the FMS, Russia can cope with the influx of immigrants on their own, but more assistance of the international brotherhood will not be superfluous.
